Glenn JimmersonMr. Glenn Jimmerson is an experienced leader with more than 40 years of first hand leadership in the manufacturing world. He has a 37 year history with Ford Motor Company that ranges from working on the production line through management of advanced manufacturing technology development departments. His successes in the technical and manufacturing areas, coupled with his strong interpersonal skills, make himan exceptionally well qualified process improvement expert. He has demonstrated the ability to work successfully with diverse groups, representing both labor and management, to achieve directed accomplishments in improved productivity, quality and reduced costs. Glenn’s international experience has provided him with unique insights to the complexities of international trade and the requirements to function successfully in foreign environments and cultures. Glenn’s experiences include an apprenticeship as an industrial electrician, supervisor on the manufacturing plant floor, Foreign Serviceproject manager, plant and product launch leader, training delivery and development leader, and process improvement consultant. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Blackbelt, has a BAS degree in Industrial Electricity from Sienna Heights University. Glenn began his career as a production worker at Ford Motor Company at a division of Ford’s Dearborn Engine Plant. From there he moved to the Ford Rouge complex, where he completed a four year apprenticeship as an industrial electrician. After nine years as a UAW employee Glenn entered the salaried workforce as a skilled trade supervisor. He advanced to a manufacturing process engineering position and eventually was promoted to implement the launch of a joint venture injection molding operation in Monterrey Mexico. Upon return from his Foreign Service assignment, Glenn became a technical specialist in industrial robotics. In this capacity, he developed and delivered training programs on robotics programming and troubleshooting, machine vision applications, artificial intelligence and expert systems, and ergonomics. In addition to training development and delivery, Glenn implemented more than 100 robotics and machine vision applications into Ford facilities worldwide. With more than ten years of demonstrated advanced manufacturing technology implementation success, Glenn was promoted to the position of department manager for Ford’s Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. In 1996, at the request of Ford’s technical training department, Mr. Jimmerson formed a company to provide technical training and consulting to Ford personnel and outside suppliers. Glenn has maintained this company and expanded the product offerings to include training in ergonomics, six sigma methodologies and lean manufacturing. He has led major re-structuring, plant relocation, quality process implementation, and process improvement projects for a variety of Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Jimmerson has worked closely with Dr. Hossein Nivi for more than fifteen years. Glenn has a great appreciation for the effectiveness and the benefits of experiential learning and lean implementation. He personally believes the Pendaran methods of transformational learning have the power to vastly improve our educational systems and deliver capable, experienced, confident graduates into the work places of the world. |
